The National Latino Education Institute (NLEI) has announced it has Training for Tomorrow grants for Electronic Medical Records (EMR) job training for Back of the Yards community residents.

The grants will cover the costs for tuition and books and include job placement. Classes are scheduled to begin in October 2011.

The EMR job outlook is very good and expected to grow through 2018. This is in part due to a shortage of qualified personnel in health care information systems; and because all health care facilities must have an EMR system in place by 2014.

If you would like information on how you may qualify, please talk to Lizbet at 773.247.0707, ext.252 or stop by the school at 2011 W. Pershing Road (39th & Damen).  These educational grants are made possible, in part, with the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity (DCEO).
